Travis Peery continues to gain momentum in his PCD IMCA modified, racking up several consecutive wins over the last couple of weeks. After a second place finish at a North Dakota event, Peery cracked off 3 wins in a row in Sheridan, Wyoming. He then made the long haul to Medford, OR where he finished 3rd in the main event after starting 8th. We wish Travis the best of luck in the remainder of the 2015 season.

Since our last update, PCD has had 4 new drivers join the ranks, which already has us excited to see where the 2016 season takes us. The new PCD Team members are: Mark Wauge from Jacksonville, OR; Monte Bischoff from Medford, OR; BJ Wild from Redmond, OR; and Zach Olson from Great Falls, MT. We look forward to helping all of these drivers and their teams stack up some wins in 2016.

Recently we added another partner to the PCD operations. Joel Smith, and the folks at Close Racing Supply have come on board as a supplier, providing us with our custom spec’d upper A-arms featuring their own small balljoint assemblies. Close Racing Supply provides quality components at fair prices, and with these A-arms, they have a product that nobody else in the market can compare to. Thanks Joel and the Close Racing Supply for being on board with our operation.

Likewise, as we finish out the 2015 chassis and move into the 2016 chassis, we are switching our fuel cell supplier from Fuel Safe to Superior Fuel Cells. Paul Culp and his crew are putting out a great quality cell at an excellent price point, and we look forward to our future dealings with Mr. Culp and his crew as well.

Wild West IMCA mod shootout wins / update

Travis Peery and Alex Stanford took part in the Wild West IMCA mod shootout that spanned from Northern CA well up into Oregon June 12th through 20th. Despite a number of bad breaks throughout the week, Stanford and Peery both were able to pick-up wins. Travis Peery picked up the win in Yreka, CA at Siskiyou Speedway in only his second night behind the wheel of his new PCD Race Car. Travis Started outside pole of the main event and led it wire to wire, taking the checkers after navigating through heavy lapped traffic late in the race.

Alex Stanford later in the week picked up a nail biter of a win at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, OR. After starting mid-pack, Stanford made his way to the front and stalked the leader for a number of laps. Stanford would make several good runs at the leader throughout the closing laps, but the leader would continue to block Stanford out of the preferred groove. On the white flag lap, Stanford would commit to the non-preferred groove and edge his way to a 0.013 second margin of victory in his PCD Race car over Ryan Gaylord.

Stanford finished second in overall points for the week, Peery finished third in overall points. They amassed a number of top 5’s and hard-charger honors to go along with the wins. Stanford had a commanding lead in Banks, OR until a late race incident with a lapped car would take him out of the event. All in all, the PCD boys did great in Oregon.

Rick Diaz picked up another sportmod win in Merced, CA from a 13th starting position on June 13th. Diaz would handily work his way to the front and cruise to a victory over the rest of the field.

Tom Sweatman has also continued his dominance at Gray’s Harbor Raceway in Elma, WA. He’s won two more races since the last update as well as grabbing another 2nd place finish. This puts Tom at 4 wins, 2 seconds, and one 4th place finish at Gray’s Harbor this season since joining the PCD Team.

In the shop, Randy Brown’s new 2015 PCD just came off the jig and has made it’s way to the powdercoaters. We’re looking forward to getting Randy into victory lane in the near future.

Peery, Diaz, & Sweatman winning in PCD Race Cars

In his second night piloting his 2015 PCD, Travis Peery quickly made a trip to victory lane at Siskiyou Speedway in Yreka, CA after, winning night 2 of the Wild West Modified Speedweek. Travis won his first heat after having to go to the tail of the field for an early caution. In his second heat race he started 6th and finishes third, securing himself into the redraw. Picking a number two out of the pill draw put him starting outside pole for the 35 lap main event. Travis took the lead going into turn one on the first lap and never looked back. PCD team mate Alex Stanford started 18th after winning his first heat race but having to come in through the a B-feature due to a fuel pump belt failure in his second heat race. Alex would earn the event’s hard charger award as he would run up to a 7th place finish.  Congrats to Travis and Alex both on strong runs at Yreka.

Rick Diaz picked up an IMCA Northern Sport Mod win on June 10. Rick started 13th for the main event and made short work of getting to the front and picking up the feature win. Congratulations to Rick Diaz and the Brown Racing team on their continued winning in the Northern Sport Mod division.

Tom Sweatman continues to steam roll the field in Elma, WA at Grays Harbor Raceway. Tom picked up win number 4 of the season on 6-14-15, bringing his six week season tally to: 4 wins (3 in a row now), 1 second place finish, and 1 fourth place finish.

Randy Brown’s new PCD will be coming off the jig shortly. We look forward to seeing Randy winning in his new car in the near future.

We have one 2014 car for sale. The frame has less than 3 nights on it, and most of the bolt-ons are brand new. The car has a 1 1/2″ roll cage, so it is legal for USRA, USMTS, or UMP. All parts on the car are top of the line components. The car is for sale with all suspension components, bellhousing, steering, etc. Excellent car that pretty much just needs a motor. Sheet metal is new as well. $18,000 for the car. We will consider other offers as well.

PCD Wins and Early May update

Not many of the cars have been on the track as of late for a number of different reasons, but the cars that have been on the track are performing well. On April 19, Rick Diaz, in the D.C. Brown Racing 16D, PCD Northern sport mod picked up his second win of the season, boosting him to two feature wins for the season thus far. He followed it up with a second place finish the following week. Diaz continues to accumulate wins in what was the first ever sport mod built here at PCD, now being double digits in wins early into his second year of racing. It’s a privilege to get to work with Rick and all of the D.C. Brown Racing crew.

Tom Sweatman of Cosmopolis, WA picked up his first PCD modified over the winter, and rolled it out for his first race in it on April 25th. After an early race spin, Sweatman would come from the back to finish 4th in his first night in his PCD Race Car. The following week Sweatman would roll from a 6th place starting position in the A-main at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington and go on to pick up his first win in his PCD on only the second night in the car. Sweatman dominated the show, stretching out to sizable leads on each restart, and remaining uncontested as the race came to a close. Congratulations to Tom and his team on their quick trip to victory lane!

Wade Bates returned to the track in his PCD after a lengthy hiatus (2 races in 2013, then nothing back until 2008) in April as well. In two events he’s managed a 3rd place finish and a 5th place finish. Wade is quickly getting up to pace, and will likely be making a trip to victory lane in the near future. Best of luck to Wade in the upcoming weeks!

Michael Maggard’s USRA sport mod chassis is back from powder coat, and will be ready to be picked up this coming weekend. We’re excited to see Michael rolling in his new car soon. He will without a doubt be a solid contender in USRA sport mod events throughout Missouri. Good luck to Michael in getting things rolling soon.

Travis Peery looks to debut his new PCD on 5.11.2015. We look forward to seeing how quickly Travis can pick up his first win in the new hot rod.

PCD Updates and Availability

We have a chassis on the jig that was ordered and the buyer has been unable to complete the purchase of. It is currently equipped with an overslung tail, but can be changed to underslung to meet buyer’s preference. The frame is otherwise the same geometrically to the car Alex Stanford ran in Las Cruces which had a 28th to 5th run before getting rooted back to 10th on a late restart with the USMTS, followed up by an 18th to 7th run on the final night of USMTS in Las Cruces. The new cars are quickly proving to be excellent on the track, and this one would make someone a great ride.

The chassis can be purchased at various stages of completion. The lowest level of completion would be a box kit that includes: front suspension, rear suspension, quick change, fuel safe cell with cage, steering with Sweet box, brake pedals, master cylinders, and brake lines, as well as mid plate for $14,750. Shocks are not included with box kit. Chassis can also be purchased as a complete roller where all you have to do is put in your drive train, and seat and go racing for $22,500. Other updates: Travis Peery’s new PCD is nearing completion at his shop in North Dakota and will be on the track soon. Here in AR, Wade Bates and Rick Wallis are preparing for the 2015 season as well. Wade was able to give his car a shakedown last Sunday (3.22.2015) and will be back on the track soon after a long hiatus from racing. Rick Wallis will have his car completed soon and be ready to hit the track in his modified again as well. Rick has been running late models in the midwest throughout the past 6 years and we’re excited to have him getting in one of our modifieds for the 2015 season.

Rick Diaz picked up his first win of the 2015 season on 3.7.2015, blistering the field in his IMCA Northern Sportmod in Merced, CA. Congrats to the Brown Racing crew on their early season success!
